Welcome to the courses at Featherfield Farm.
Featherfield Farm has a classroom, complete with toilets, kitchen, shop and parking. A demonstration garden was built in 2019, incorporating a small pond, polytunnel, raised beds, composting area, hugel bed, and fruit cages.
The bee keeping courses needed hives, so new colonies were establishes and there are now six permanent active hives in the beekeepers garden.
For the poultry courses, a purpose built poultry shed was established. The outdoor chicken run mixes with the bee keepers garden as the chickens keep down the mite population which may threaten the bee hives.
All classes start at 10am but we ask students to arrive at 9:30am for a meet and greet with tea and coffee, the actual courses starting at 10am sharp. We break for mid morning coffee and again at 1pm for lunch. Most courses end at 4:30pm, although the question and answer session may go on longer.
The classroom is modern, bright and comfortably warm.
We do hope you enjoy our courses. If there are any other courses you would like to see offered or other educators you would like to see featured, please drop us an email here.
