People choose organic food for a variety of reasons for example a better quality of life for the animals or the health benefits associated with organic foods. Organic produce is healthier and safer, and in the opinion of our customers, is tastier. Here at Featherfield Farm we believe organic farming will be at the forefront in development in the Irish agriculture sector. Demand for organic produce outstrips supply. Just 1.9% of Irish food production is organic while demand grows past 10%. Nearly half of our organic produce is exported and that further extends the gap between supply and demand. Demand for organic food is set to grow worldwide and in turn the development of the Irish organic sector is essential.
